You are cordially invited to the SuperTU/esday on Digital Security organized by the department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the TU/e on Thursday February 11, 2010.
The program - which includes various parallel sessions, plenary lectures and a forum discussion – aims at a broad audience including employees of SMEs and of larger companies, people working in the (semi-) public sector, alumni, but also citizens and high school students. There will be specific sessions (in Dutch and in English) for specific target groups.
There are also other reasons why this day is unique. There will be two expositions of historical crypto-devices, one of the Dutch NSA (National Security Agency) and one of museum Scryption. In addition, a number of companies active in the security field will present themselves. Finally, we mention that as introduction to the forum discussion on Identity Theft, the three times laureate of the “Gouden Strop”, Charles den Tex, will give an impression on how it feels when one becomes a victim of identity theft.

M.Sc. Student Grants for Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux |

Yearly the WIC organizes its Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux. The WIC aims to increase the participation of students who are in their Master’s program. To that end, the WIC makes available a limited number of grants to M.Sc. students who have an accepted paper at the Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux.
The grant covers symposium registration, travel, and local accommodation costs. Grants are awarded on competition basis, under the following conditions:
- The presenting author of the paper is a M.Sc. student upon submission of the full paper.
- The paper is accepted for publication at the Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux.
Applications for the grants can be in the form of a short letter confirming the above conditions, signed by the applicant and his/her direct supervisor. The application must be submitted together with the paper proposal (abstract) to the organizers of the Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux before the posted deadline.

ICTDelta 2010 wordt een festival
ICTDelta, het jaarlijkse evenement dat geïnteresseerden informeert en inspireert aan de hand van de laatste ontwikkelingen in ICT-onderzoek en -innovatie, krijgt een nieuwe vorm. Het WTC Rotterdam zal op 18 maart volgend jaar de locatie zijn voor een festival van ICT-onderzoek en -innovatie in Nederland.
ICTDelta 2010 wordt een bruisende mix van activiteiten waaruit deelnemers hun eigen programma kunnen samenstellen. Verdeeld over 9 thema’s gaat het van games naar databases, van 3-D naar waterbeheer, van topresearch naar praktische uitdagingen. Deze nieuwe editie van ICTDelta biedt interactie, snelheid, demonstraties en intensiteit en geen statische presentaties en plenaire zittingen. De deelnemer beleeft mee wat er in laboratoria wordt gebrouwen, ervaart de uitdagingen en mogelijkheden van nieuwe interfaces, speelt mee in virtuele werelden, debatteert over moraal en ethiek, denkt mee over hoe ICT helpt de aarde te redden.

The 31st WIC Symposium on Information Theory in the Benelux (WIC SITB 2010) will be held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on May 11-12, 2010. For the Call for Papers, see attachment. The submission deadline (one-page abstracts) is January 24, 2010.
A limited number of grants for MSc students with accepted papers is available.
