• A Mini-Workshop on SYNCHRONIZATION will be organized in Essen, Germany on August 24-25, 2000. It is organized by the Digital Communications Group, Institute for Experimental Mathematics in cooperation with the IEEE German Chapter on Information Theory and the Shannon Foundation.

• The 27th International Conference and Discussion Scientific Club "Information Technologies in Science, Education, Telecommunications and Business" will be held on May 19-28, Yalta-Gurzuf, Crimea, Ukraine.
• Aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven zal ir. Geert Leus zijn proefschrift verdedigen tot het behalen van de graad van Doctor in de Toegepaste Wetenschappen. De verdediging vindt plaats op woensdag 24 mei 2000 om 14 u in het auditorium van het Arenbergkasteel, K.Mercierlaan 94 te Heverlee.
  Het proefschrift is getiteld: Signaalverwerkingsalgoritmen voor CDMA-gebaseerde draadloze communicatie. Promotor is Prof. dr. ir. Marc Moonen. Een samenvatting vindt u hier.

• The WIC Midwintermeeting of the year 2000 will be held on Thuesday, January 18, 2000, at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE). The title and topic of the meeting is "High-Quality Audio".
