First CALL FOR PAPERS

The program will consist of a number of both oral and poster presentations contributed by researchers in the Benelux.

 Prospective authors are encouraged to submit papers according to the timing schedule and deadlines listed below. Papers are solicited in the following (or related) areas:

• Shannon theory and applications of information theory
• Multi-user information theory
• Source and channel coding, data compression
• Cryptography and data protection issues
• Audio/video signal processing and compression
• Speech/signal processing, pattern recognition
• Signal detection and estimation
• Terminals for ubiquitous communication
• Wired and wireless communication networks for ubiquitous communications

Timing schedule and deadlines:

• Feb.  9, 2001  Deadline for submission of 1 page summary
• Feb.   26, 2001 Notification of acceptance
• April    6, 2001 Deadline for submission of full paper
• April  13, 2001 Deadline for registration
• May   15-16, 2001 Symposium

To submit a paper and present your work at the symposium, please send a one-page summary to the symposium chair and specify topic area and preferred type of presentation (oral or poster). Electronic submission is also possible by email to g.h.l.m.heideman@el.utwente.nl specifying “Benelux IT-2001” on the subject line.
