A scientific meeting on "Convolutional Codes and their Applications" will take place in Kamp-Lintfort, November 4-6, 1998. The meeting is organized by the Ph.D. School "CINEMA" and the IEEE German Chapter on Information theory. We invite you to submit an original contribution to the meeting chairman, Prof. A.J. Han Vinck, before October 7. All contributions within the field of interest are welcome. We also stimulate young researchers to participate and to present their results.

The meeting will take place in the Institut für Mobil- and Satellitenfunktechnik, IMST. The IMST is a new research center on Mobile and Satellite Communications in area of Kamp-Lintfort. We will start Wednesday afternoon with a get-together and end on Friday afternoon, after lunch. Meeting fee (DM 200.-) includes all meals, get-together, excursions and proceedings. We request participants to register early preferably by fax or email, since we have reserved a limited number of rooms in the hotel. Some support for foreign travelers is available upon request and necessity.
